Job summary

The Douglas Judicial Circuit seeks a Lead Assistant District Attorney to lead felony case reviews, direct investigations, evaluate and charge cases, negotiate plea recommendations, and conduct jury trials. You will carry a trial line caseload while mentoring teammates and coordinating with investigators and victim witness advocates in a fast-paced Atlanta metro setting.

Ideal candidates have approximately 3–5 years of prosecution experience and must be a member in good standing with the Georgia

Qualifications

Lead Assistant District Attorney

The Douglas Judicial Circuit is seeking highly motivated, vision-driven attorneys looking to grow their careers and impact their communities as Assistant District Attorneys. The office is located in Douglasville, GA, just minutes west of downtown Atlanta, with easy access to dining, shops, and I-20. The office uniquely offers leadership focused on investing in the next generation of prosecutors, while handling some of the most serious and complex cases in the Atlanta metro area.

As a Team Lead, you can expect to review felony case files from law enforcement, direct and lead further investigation, evaluate and charge cases, negotiate the plea recommendations, and conduct jury trials. In addition, this candidate will carry a trial line case load and assist other team members by advising on their case load. They would regularly collaborate with the investigators and victim witness advocates.

Preferred Qualifications: This position strongly prefers experience in Team Lead and approximately 3-5 years of prosecution experience. All applicants must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be in good standing of another state’s bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia. Applicants must be eligible or admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.
