Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders in Storrs, CT is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead large-scale capital projects for public and private clients. The role focuses on guiding projects from start to finish, building strong client relationships, and coordinating a diverse team of architects, engineers, and consultants.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree and 5–10 years of experience, with CT project experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in architecture or engineering; construction management acceptable.
• Prior CT K-12 or Higher Education project experience preferred.
• Knowledge of permitting and zoning laws.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, PM practices, budgeting, codes and contract law.
• Understanding FF&E process and client relations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules and deliverables.
• Enthusiasm to drive project implementation.
• Professional designations are a strong asset.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage one or more concurrent construction projects from start to finish—on time and on budget.
• Build strong client relationships and coordinate the project team.
• Apply PM processes and oversee architects, engineers and consultants.
• Ensure goals are met within financial and scheduling constraints; identify risks, mitigate issues.
• Review project materials and construction documents for conformance and constructability.
• Develop project documents such as monthly reports, budgets, schedules, and meeting minutes.
• Oversee staff delivering quality work and meeting commitments.
