Job summary

Bridgestone Americas in Oxford, NC seeks a Lead Project Engineer to define, design, execute, and close out capital and continuous-improvement projects at the Oxford plant. You will lead multiple projects from concept through commissioning, partnering with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, and Finance to deliver measurable results with minimal disruption.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, plus strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Proven success leading multiple concurrent capital projects through all phases.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing equipment, and project controls.
• Ability to operate in a live manufacturing environment with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of capital, reliability, automation, capacity, quality, and cost-reduction projects.
• Develop front-end definitions, business cases, and ROI analyses for projects.
• Specify, design, evaluate, and integrate plant equipment and process systems.
• Prepare scopes, technical specs, bid packages, and turnover documentation.
• Manage schedule, cost, risk, and contractor performance with stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement, vendor selection, and technical evaluations.
• Plan installations with production and maintenance, including shutdowns.
• Lead site acceptance, commissioning, and performance verification.
• Identify continuous-improvement opportunities using Lean and problem-solving methods.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and Technical teams to improve OEE.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are met in designs.
