Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in San Diego on-site is seeking a Lead, Project Engineer. You will lead a project team in Space & Intel lines, overseeing cost, schedule, and technical performance to meet customer requirements on programs and IRAD projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years experience (or more). Ability to obtain government security clearance. You will coordinate with resource managers, manage risks, and present to customers at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments.
• Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
• Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
• Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks.
• Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.

Job Description:

L3Harris is current hiring for the role of Lead, Project Engineer. The successful candidate will act as a project engineer supporting the Space & Intel product lines in development efforts for programs and IRAD projects.

• Responsible for successfully leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.

• Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.

• Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.

• Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

• Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

• Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance.

• Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience leading Government Contract development programs.

• Experience leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers.

• Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.

• Possession of a Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance.

• Experience with best practices for project engineering, and program execution.

• Experience in complex, multi-discipline programs including but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, systems, and firmware, with a background in space systems.

• Experience managing projects with budgets of $10M+.

• Ability to implement and adapt project execution plans that will achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements.

• Ability to present to internal and external customers at all levels.

• In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salar y range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $ 127,500 - $236,500 . This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
