Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to drive AP1000 project development from initiation to completion. You will manage design, coordination, and delivery while providing technical leadership to the project team.

About the Role

As a Lead Project Engineer you will lead development of AP1000 projects from initiation to completion. You will manage project design and coordination ensuring excellence, compliance, and delivery. The Lead Project Engineer will work with the Project Manager, Engineering Manager and business and technical teams, providing technical leadership and expertise to support project success.

You will report to the Manager of Engineering for Poland AP1000 Project Engineering. This position is hybrid from the US based in Cranberry Township, in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. The position is hybrid; you will be onsite 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with goals and industry standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for cost-effective, on-time completion.
• Collaborate with teams, clients, and vendors to define requirements and resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout all project phases.
• Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team.
• Conduct feasibility studies, scope development reviews, and performance evaluations for project optimization.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
• 7+ years of applicable experience.
• International travel to support the Poland project.
• Project engineering/management or equivalent roles with experience leading successful projects or large scope.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and regulatory standards.
• Experience with project management and engineering software such as Primavera and Microsoft Project.
• Leadership and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating across departments.
• Interest in obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification.
• General knowledge of Westinghouse nuclear products like AP100, AP300, eVinci.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
