Summary of Responsibilities

The Lead Project Controls Specialist - Cost manages cost engineering activities for capital construction projects. Under the guidance of the Sr. Project Controls Manager, they analyze cost performance, develop estimates, create budgets, and collaborate with the Capital Finance Team. The role involves reporting on financial performance and supporting project goals through effective project control services.

Key Duties
  • Lead project controls activities for complex projects or portfolios.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, including cash flow analysis.
  • Assist in developing annual operating plans and monitor project financials.
  • Review invoices, process receipts, and liaise with Finance for journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with budgeting and cost control practices.
  • Support change management and project performance analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least six (6) years of experience in construction project cost management.
  • Experience leading cost and schedule controls for capital projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of project management principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the rail industry or related sectors.
  • Certifications such as Oracle Primavera P6 (PSP, CEP, EVP, CCP).
Work Environment & Additional Details

This position offers a hybrid office/remote environment, with travel up to 25%. Compensation ranges from $94,300 to $122,256, with comprehensive benefits. The role requires a pre-employment background check and adherence to safety and security regulations.
