Summary:

The Lead Program Manager, AGI is responsible for stewarding critical programs and driving delivery of strategic and transformational change to support the rapid growth of the Ansys Government Initiatives (AGI) business. This individual will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of current and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong program management background and demonstrated success managing large, complex programs. This role, reporting to the VP, Strategic Operations, AGI, is an excellent opportunity to impact business unit growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of large, complex programs, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementation.
  2. Promote collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholders.
  3. Ensure that the scope of the projects within the program align with business priorities.
  4. Lead cross-functional meetings & foster teamwork; identify gaps/misalignments and drive escalation/resolution of issues.
  5. Directly facilitate program steering committee meetings and conduct periodic briefings/status updates to various levels of the organization for assigned areas.
  6. Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business model.
  7. Manage program-level risks and interdependencies.
  8. Support, coach and mentor team members.
  9. A minimum of 8 years of project management experience with large-scale, complex programs.
  10. Experience in B2B technology, preferably with background in the government space.
  11. Proven planning, organizational & leadership skills, including ability to mobilize & motivate teams, set direction & approach, resolve conflict, and deliver tough messages with grace.
  12. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision.
  13. Ability to simplify the complexities inherent in a large-scale program for executive audiences.
  14. Mature business acumen and industry knowledge.
  15. Strong influencing & negotiation skills with ability to navigate in a highly matrixed organization with a minimal amount of supervision.
  16. Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations.
  17. Self-motivated with a clear sense of urgency.
  18. Virtual and remote team leadership capability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. PMP/PMI Certification preferred.
