Position Details

Location: Central Office – 123 Robert S. Kerr, Oklahoma City

Salary: Up to $24.08 per hour, based on experience and education.

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

Primary Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Position Description

The Oklahoma Lead Poisoning Prevention Program Case Coordinator will support the Oklahoma Childhood (OCLPPP) and Adult Blood (ABLES) Lead Programs within Screening and Special Services. Responsibilities include providing case management services that are timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered, while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. The role involves educating families about lead exposure, prevention, follow-up testing, interventions, and resources for lead abatement. The coordinator will collaborate with private providers, county health departments, Head Start programs, and others to promote screening and education on lead risks. Presence in the office is essential.

Key Duties
  1. Conduct in-home environmental investigations for children with elevated blood lead levels, collecting samples for analysis.
  2. Assist in preparing and sending samples to laboratories and in documenting results and recommendations.
  3. Maintain client records in the HHLPSS system, including case notes and referrals.
  4. Assess, report, and follow up on health status related to lead exposure.
  5. Connect families with culturally appropriate resources and develop care plans for lead removal, nutrition, and hygiene.
  6. Complete intake assessments and report patient information to the Program Manager.
  7. Report quarterly activities to the Department of Environmental Quality.
  8. Educate staff and community groups on lead risk identification and follow-up.
  9. Participate in grant writing and professional development activities.
  10. Obtain certification as a Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector within one year, if not already certified.
  11. Engage in process improvements and policy updates as needed.
  12. Travel out-of-state as required.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Level I: Bachelor's degree plus one year of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.

Level II: Bachelor's degree plus at least two years of relevant experience and certification as a Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector. No substitutions allowed for certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish language skills, investigation/report writing experience, and background in public health, social work, or related fields are a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Office setting with travel for environmental investigations. Activities include bending, carrying equipment, climbing, and long periods of sitting. Travel to clients' homes required.
