Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Lead Production Trainer in New Jersey to lead daily production planning and training on the shop floor. You will schedule volumes and mix to meet Home Depot commitments, manage finished goods inventory, and coordinate with production, logistics, and extrusion teams.

Reporting to the Production Control Supervisor, you will analyze calendars, monitor stock levels, support special orders, and generate daily/weekly reports.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–3 years of planner experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish or Creole a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems (IBM InfoFlow preferred).
• Able to work semi-independently and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze custom and stock calendars daily via ERP scheduling to meet lead times.
• Evaluate inventory levels and target stock against demand to prevent shortages.
• Support walk-out orders for special projects and rebalancing labor cadence.
• Oversee communications with customers, service, and sales for updates.
• Act as liaison with the plant for order entry, shipping updates, and daily chats.
• Generate and format daily/weekly operational reports.
• Collaborate with production, logistics, and extrusion teams to meet needs.
• Support quarterly physical inventories and training programs.

Job Description:Lead Production Trainer

The Lead Production Trainer at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for daily production planning and training. Reporting directly to the Production Control Supervisor, this role plays a critical role in the organization; it is responsible for contributing to the daily cadence on the shop floor by scheduling the right volumes and mix while ensuring that our contractual lead time obligations are met for our primary customer, Home Depot. In addition, the role manages our finished good inventory levels to meet our fiscal responsibilities by scheduling the proper mix of sku's to support our local and inter-plant requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze custom and stock manufacturing calendars daily through ERP calendar management and scheduling adjustments to meet customer lead times and OTIF metrics.

• Evaluate current stock inventory and target inventory levels against demand to identify stock shortages and firm replenishment orders.

• Support walk out order process for special orders such as engineering tests, customer requests, and stock orders to rebalance labor and plant cadence.

• Oversee and manage customer, customer service, and sales team communications for expediting, cancellations, and status updates.

• Act as the primary liaison for the plant with preferred customer to manage order entry, adjustments, shipping updates, and any other daily communication that arises.

• Generate and format daily and weekly operational reporting

• Collaborate cross functionally with production, logistics, and extrusion teams to manage customer needs

• Support quarterly physical inventories
• Assist and support training programs for PIT equipment and Production scheduling training.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay Range : $22-$26/hr

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree in supply chain, business administration, or related discipline preferred.

• Must be fluent in English, bi-lingual in Spanish or Creole a plus

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a planner role, preferably in manufacturing environment

• Strong oral and written communication skills required

• Demonstrates a detail-oriented mindset, sense of urgency, and takes responsibility for escalating critical roadblocks to achieving tasks.

• Knowledge of MS Office suite, heavy emphasis on Excel

• Experience with ERP systems (IBM InfoFlow a plus)

• Requires the ability to work semi-independently as well as collaboratively to achieve tasks, work on projects, and meet company goals

• Must be customer-focused and comfortable interacting with all members of the organization.
