What we need

We are seeking a Lead Production Technician responsible for maintaining and operating automated adapters that interface with the Symbotic structure. You will ensure system readiness to meet performance targets and utilize Human/Machine Interface terminals to operate equipment effectively.

What we do

The Lead Production Technician is part of the Customer Operations team, managing daily operations of Symbotic’s robotic material handling system. This team drives operational excellence by partnering with onsite customers to ensure quality, safety, and system performance.

What you’ll do

• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer procedures daily.
• Lead the production technician team under the guidance of site leadership.
• Perform pre-production checks to ensure equipment is ready to operate.
• Monitor the flow of the storage and retrieval system via adapters to maximize throughput.
• Prepare pallets for storage system induction.
• Diagnose system stoppages and restore service using HMI and manual interventions.
• Assist troubleshooting efforts and analyze faults to determine corrective actions.
• Report issues impacting production immediately to leadership.
• Contribute to system uptime through maintenance and robot recovery actions.
• Recommend process improvements.
• Conduct system inspections, including cleaning, lubrication, and validation.
• Report out-of-spec conditions and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain continuous operation of system components.
• Use radio etiquette and communicate effectively with team members.
• Perform upkeep on rover bots, including replacing wheels and sensors.
• Recover automated robotic vehicles, including in restrictive environments.
• Assist automation technicians and perform basic technician duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

• Ability to multitask and perform various physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and in various environmental conditions.

Our Environment

• Approximately 75% of time on construction sites with PPE required.
• Climb stairs and work near high railings.
• Work in temperatures from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
• Lift and move heavy items safely.
• Stand and walk for extended periods and work at heights of up to 45 feet.
