Job summary

American Axle & Mfg., Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to directly supervise hourly associates and oversee production planning, scheduling, setup, and running of production activities.

You will manage material dispersal, maintain labor and material requirements to meet the daily production schedule, and coordinate with production support teams while ensuring safety and quality standards. This on-site role requires strong leadership, problem solving, and the ability to work with unions

Responsibilities

• Supervises production associates by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining personnel; communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, and appraises contributions.
• Maintains production processes by observing volumes and recommending adjustments.
• Delivers daily shift production reports, calculates yields and recoveries.
• Monitors progress, expedites material flow and work results; resolves problems.
• Improves workflows by removing stoppages, analyzing delays and testing methods.
• Communicates production status, requirements, and issues to the next shift.
• Ensures compliance with union terms where applicable.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy production environments per policies and regulations.
• Participates in continuous improvement and supports other related requests.
• All other duties as assigned.
