Job summary

Meta is seeking Production Engineers to develop and operate the infrastructure powering our social platforms. You will own back-end services, mentor teams, and productionize critical code used by billions of users.

Ideal candidates have extensive Unix/Linux and networking experience, broad language skills (Java, Python, C++, Go, etc.), and familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, and MySQL. Join us to tackle large-scale challenges in AI-enabled systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Unix/Linux and networking fundamentals.
• 10+ years of coding experience in Java, Python, C++, PHP/Hack, Rust, or Go.
• Experience with Internet service architecture capacity planning and/or urgent capacity augmentation.
• Knowledge of web technologies and Internet service architectures (LAMP/MEAN, CDN, Load Balancing).
• Experience configuring and running infrastructure level applications, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL.

Responsibilities

• Own back-end services including fleet management and core services used by Meta products.
• Lead and mentor your engineering team; be a force multiplier of impact.
• Write and review code; productionize code; develop documentation and capacity plans.
• Share an on‑call rotation and act as escalation contact for incidents.
• Collaborate with engineers on production code used by billions.
• Analyze and optimize code for quality, scalability, efficiency, and performance; establish ownership of systems.
