Job summary

FWI is seeking a Production Control Officer to provide senior editorial and production oversight for the Defense Intelligence Digest, DIA’s flagship all-source publication delivered daily to senior DoD leadership. The PCO serves as the final production control authority, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and publication readiness in a high-tempo, classified environment.

This on-site role in Washington, DC requires TS/SCI with CI poly, a Bachelor's in English/Journalism or 5 years of equivalent

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree or five years of relevant professional experience in proofreading or editing in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum three years of proofreading/editing/production control experience, preferably in DoD or U.S. Government.
• Experience applying style guides, editorial standards, and production controls in high-volume publishing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the final production control authority for all Defense Intelligence Digest content prior to publication.
• Conduct final proofreading and quality control reviews of layouts, graphics, and formatted content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Enforce DIA Style Guide, SOPs, SMP/CAPCO, and DI tradecraft standards.
• Review and validate all classification and declassification markings for ODNI SMP compliance.
• Apply Secretary of Defense Daily Brief branding to DID articles in HTML as directed by the Managing Editor.
• Oversee HTML layout and final content production using publishing tools (e.g., DocBuilder).
• Coordinate with editors, designers, and dissemination teams to ensure on-time publication.
• Produce and submit a Daily Status Report detailing work and resolutions.
• Maintain and archive final versions of all DID products in shared drives.
