The Lead Production Assembly Line position is responsible for preparing, monitoring and reporting the safe, sanitary, quality, economic food preparation, packing, and loading of meals according to National School Lunch program guidelines, Health Department rules and Nutrition Services Department protocol.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years of experience as a kitchen assistant at central kitchen
Regular and punctual attendance
History of positive evaluations
Experience in a production facility, working in a foodservice industry in a leadership role
Possess the skills, knowledge and ability to meet job responsibilities and be willing to continue professional growth
Completed coursework in quantity foodservice, institutional management, nutrition
Hazard Assessment Critical Control Plan (HACCP) certification preferred
National School Lunch Program experience
Member School Nutrition Association (SNA), Washington School Nutrition Association (WSNA)
Criminal background clearance
Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis
Valid Food Handler's Permit
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
"Serv Safe" certificate required within 1 month of hire
School board policies and procedures
Basic mathematics and reading.
Efficient meal production and monitoring staff
Basic computer applications
Microsoft Office software
Lead staff, schedule assembly of meals efficiently and perform job responsibilities with little or no supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently stand and walk, bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee is frequently required to squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation. The employee will occasionally be required to sit, climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, crawl, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds and must frequently lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs should be a two person lift or a mechanical lift. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum force of 400 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and intermittently works near video display. The employee occasionally may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and travel to other sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position requires ability to work in low temperature environments such as walk in refrigerators or freezers, or work with food that is in a frozen or very hot state. Must have ability to maneuver self, carts and food/supplies within constrained kitchen environment with heavy equipment, tables and carts.
Position experiences inflexible deadlines and interruptions. Interact may be exposure to angry, frustrated, or aggressive individuals.
Work schedules typically involve a variety of report times from early morning hour production to late afternoon, and shifts of 7-8 hours per day, with occasional overtime.
