The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an enterprising lead product manager to help evolve the Wikipedia reading experience for a new generation of readers. This role will be part of the newly formed Reader Growth team within our Product and Technology department. The department builds wiki experiences that enable our communities to realize our vision: a world where every human can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.
Wikipedia is one of the most popular media properties globally, visited by over 1 billion people monthly across more than 300 languages. Over 99% of these users are logged-out on our websites. Their curiosity fuels our mission, supported by thousands of volunteer editors.
As internet users prefer new learning methods, the Reader Growth team will develop innovative ways to engage with Wikipedia content, including features for intuitive browsing, content discovery, contextualization, multimedia engagement, and more. The product manager will lead cross-functional teams to ideate, test, iterate, and scale these features across languages, impacting millions of users worldwide.
Candidates must be available for meetings between 15:00 UTC and 18:00 UTC and be open to international travel up to four times per year.
