Job description

Lead Product Manager, Connectivity / Gateways

San Mateo, CA United States

Who We Are

Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.

We’ve got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation , more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.

You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform’s impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that’s alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We’re rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.

About the Role

Verkada's Connectivity products secure people and property in remote and edge environments. Our Cellular and Wi‑Fi Gateways bring Verkada's full platform including threat detection, deterrence, and real‑time visibility, anywhere it's needed. Verkada Gateways enable cameras, intercoms, access control, and sensors to be deployed in locations without stable internet or power.

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to own and grow Verkada's Gateway product line. In this role, your mission is twofold: make gateways the enabling layer that unlocks every unwired Verkada deployment, and build the product depth and business model that grows Gateway into a flagship product.

What You'll Do
  • Own strategy and execution for Verkada's Gateway product line
  • Own and expand the gateway roadmap across reliability, fleet‑scale cloud management, and new connectivity options and form factors.
  • Partner with product lines across Verkada (remote cameras, security trailers, transportation, intercoms, access) to deliver connectivity‑as‑a‑service and drive ecosystem attach
  • Define data plan and pricing strategy that improves both customer adoption and Verkada margin
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in B2B networking, connectivity, embedded systems, or IoT
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar quantitative field. MS, PhD, or MBA optional
  • Proven history of launching and scaling products and businesses. Strong customer intuition, technical depth, and ability to navigate tradeoffs are critical to success in this role.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (LTE/5G, Wi‑Fi, WAN failover, SIM/carrier management), plus foundational knowledge of firmware, device bring‑up, and hardware design
  • Ability to build platform and recurring‑revenue business models, with a structured approach to ambiguous problems like data plan pricing, carrier economics, attach‑rate modeling, and ROI analysis
  • Excited to roll up your sleeves and get out of the office. You’ll spend time with installers, integrators, and customers deploying in unwired environments. You’ll use that insight to shape the product
