We’re hiring a Lead Product Manager - AI to lead core verticals for Xero’s AI products. This role requires experience working on AI products. Xero is on a mission to reinvent financial and business intelligence through AI, aiming to assist millions of businesses globally. AI is a top priority, with significant investments being made.

Currently, we are developing JAX (in beta), Xero’s genAI-powered agent designed for financial and business advisory tasks and Q&A. We are also investing in AI/ML across our products, including proactive insights, document extraction, and task automation. We seek strong product managers with AI/ML experience, customer obsession, and a proactive "move fast" mindset. Join us as we push technological boundaries and reinvent financial intelligence!

This position can be based in our San Mateo office or remote within the west coast US.

What you’ll do

1. Execute core product management responsibilities: identifying customer problems, defining solutions, developing and managing product roadmaps and strategies, and planning product releases.
2. Review and analyze the commercial and customer results of products, areas, and teams to inform strategy and practices.
3. Lead and manage a product or group of products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring ongoing maintenance and support.
4. Collaborate directly with approximately 30 engineers, signing off on technical direction and architecture from a product perspective, ensuring alignment with product goals.

• Experience in product practice thought leadership, defining roadmaps, and long-term planning at portfolio levels
• Experience leading cross-portfolio initiatives to deliver outcomes
• Mentoring, supporting, and coaching experience

Salary range: $220,000 - $250,000 per year
