Job summary

American Packaging Corporation (APC) is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead the creation of complex new products and resolve end-use performance issues. The role drives project management across multiple COEs with minimal day-to-day guidance and represents APC to customers and suppliers.

Ideal candidates will have a technical bachelor’s degree and experience in printing/laminations for flexible packaging, with a focus on innovation and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field from a four-year college or university; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with printing and laminations for flexible packaging using materials such as papers, films, foils, and sealants is desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products of a complex nature and resolve customer issues related to end use performance.
• Provide professional and technical leadership toward successful project management of assigned projects, many multi-COE, with minimal day-to-day guidance.
• Represent APC with customers and suppliers; build project plans and timelines with consistent successful outcomes.
• Own NBO activity, manufacturing and quality support, budgeting, and continuous improvement.
• Research and qualify new and alternate materials; maintain specification files for raw materials and finished products.
• Interface with customers, management, marketing, sales, and suppliers; travel as required.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in a Technical Field (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)
