Job summary

Gather AI, based in Pittsburgh and expanding across the US, seeks a sole designer to define good design for a new product category. You will own design end to end—from field research and information architecture to visual craft and working prototypes.

Your work spans drone interfaces and MHE Vision systems, plus the Sage AI insights dashboard. You will partner with engineering, travel ~20% for customer sites, and help shape the design system and future leadership path toward Director of UX as

Qualifications

• Portfolio with strong, simple, modern design that holds up in data‑dense interfaces.
• Ability to demonstrate information hierarchy with measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Own design for the MHEV app and propose a v2 concept by month 3.
• Design interfaces for drones and forklifts, tablet experiences under time pressure in noisy environments.
• Expand into the Sage dashboard as a second product line and shape AI insights product direction.
• Build on Gather design system and own it across dashboards and apps.
• Travel to customer sites to observe usage and inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with mobile and front‑end engineers in Pittsburgh and Noida to ensure smooth handoffs.
• Leverage Claude and AI tools to move from concept to working prototype.
• Extend work to internal tools and occasional marketing material.
