Your opportunity

You will play a meaningful role in designing the experience to enable engineers to handle their data, ingest, query, alert on, and analyze application and infrastructure telemetry data. You’ll craft visualizations, workflows, interactions, and more. You will also be responsible for the experience of a large product domain in one of the largest groups at New Relic, working closely with product managers, engineers, and other UX team members. You'll shape how developers and admins experience New Relic One and be part of a global community of designers, researchers, and writers, joining at a formative stage in the team's growth. What you'll do

1. Lead product design by creating user flows, interfaces, interactions, and experiences via mockups, diagrams, and prototypes.
2. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, researchers, and writers to assess user needs and deliver quality experiences.
3. Work closely with engineers during discovery and hand-off to ensure high-quality execution and user adoption.
4. Champion a developer-centric experience by gathering user research and analytics insights to meet developer needs as observability data increases.
5. Support and develop design standards alongside an evolving design system.
6. Apply big-picture design thinking and attention to detail on technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
7. Contribute to the larger design community, setting high standards and best practices.

This role requires

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise software, developer tools, or SaaS B2C/B2B products.
• Experience working in an agile, fast-paced environment.
• Test-and-learn approach to refine designs based on data.
• A portfolio showcasing your best work.
• Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, Abstract, InVision.
• Experience working with global, distributed teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English.

Bonus points if you have

• An advanced degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience conducting ethnographic and usability research.
• Experience in SaaS or enterprise software.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, React, JavaScript.
