Collective is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own Accounting & Payroll, translating complex financial workflows into clear, trustworthy, fast product experiences. You will partner with product managers, engineers, and marketing to ship polished designs that scale.

With 5+ years in product design, you’ll shape strategy, set visual standards, and contribute to a robust design system. This hybrid SF role combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer.
• Experience in fintech or consumer tech is preferred.
• Strong UX and visual design skills, including copy writing and systems design.
• Ability to translate complex problems into simple, engaging solutions.
• Experience delivering high-quality, visually polished work with intuitive patterns.

Job description

Lead Product Designer at Collective (full-stack IC) to own Accounting & Payroll and translate complex financial workflows into clear, trustworthy, fast product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Build deep understanding of customers’ needs, business objectives, and industry context to shape and deliver paradigm-changing experiences
• Set a high bar for visual polish and intuitive interaction patterns
• Define customer and business problems, exploring broad-to-narrow solution paths through thoughtful design
• Ideate, design, launch, and continuously improve products that advance Collective’s mission
• Partner with a cross-functional product development team (product managers, engineers, designers, operations, sales & marketing) to ship innovative, well-crafted experiences at scale
• Optimize for execution velocity while preserving quality through informed tradeoffs between design decisions and available resources
• Help grow and refine a robust design system

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer
• Track record of measurable impact on product strategy and customer experience, preferably in fintech or consumer tech
• Strong UX and visual design skills, including visual design, UI/UX, copy writing, and systems design
• Experience delivering high-quality, visually polished work with simple, intuitive design patterns
• Ability to turn complex problems into simple, engaging solutions
• Solid grasp of end-to-end design work, from identifying customer needs and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences
• Use consumer insights and metrics to guide design decisions and influence the product roadmap
• Systems thinking skills to connect details across the full customer journey

Compensation

• USD 175,000 - 230,000 per year
