Job summary

Vertiv Corporation seeks an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Product Design Lead) to head the design of Single Phase, In Row, High, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs). You will drive cross-functional development, mentor team members, and ensure timely delivery within Vertiv and HDLC standards.

The role requires leadership in product design, collaboration with PMO and Offering teams, and expertise in CAD tools like CREO 4.0. HVAC-related experience and PLM/BOM familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5+ years in a technical product development role.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and collaborate in a dynamic team.
• Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members.
• Track record delivering quality products through the development process.
• Excellent project management and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in 3D CAD; CREO 4.0 or greater preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team in technical development of single phase, in-row CDUs.
• Engage with Offering teams to develop product offerings and SRS/ERS.
• Work with PMO to develop timelines and ensure on-time execution.
• Check and approve drawings and BOM.
• Lead and review design work of cross-functional engineering team.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities in design and development.
