Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Product Design Mechanical Engineer to own end-to-end design of electrical power distribution equipment, including LV switchgear and distribution cabinets. You will lead from concept to production, defining specifications and evaluating design changes in a globally distributed data-center context.

The role requires about 30% travel to AWS offices, data centers, suppliers, and validation sites, with domestic travel and some international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with interdisciplinary teams from concept to production.
• 5+ years leading product design, development, testing and manufacturing support of electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Define design requirements with internal partner teams.
• Lead design and qualification of LV/MV power distribution equipment.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and codes across countries.
• Validate designs via prototypes and DFx/value engineering.
• Coordinate testing with field engineering and commissioning teams.
• Support manufacturing activities across multiple locations.
• Lead the design team within internal and external groups.
