Amazon’s AWS Infrastructure Services is hiring a Senior Product Design Mechanical Engineer to own end-to-end product design of electrical power distribution equipment such as LV/MV switchgear and cabinets. You’ll lead design through concept to mass production, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate across data centers and suppliers.

The role requires ~30% travel to AWS offices, data centers, and validation sites; open to hiring in multiple U.S. cities including Seattle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• 10+ years leading new product design, development, testing and manufacturing support of electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Define product design requirements with internal partner teams.
• Lead design, development and qualification of LV/MV switchgear and power distribution cabinets.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and building codes across countries.
• Validate design through prototypes and first-of-a-kind builds, conducting DFx and value engineering analysis.
• Test and validate installation, operation, and performance with field teams.
• Provide manufacturing support for concurrent projects across locations.
• Lead the data center product development team and collaborators.
