Job summary

You will direct and supervise all functions of the Produce department, while supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring quality, inventory control, and merchandising standards.

• Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining service standards.
• Current food handler permit required upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate information to associates.
• Set department performance goals and lead the team to meet targets.
• Schedule adequately to manage customer volume.
• Train associates on performance, inventory, and other tasks.
• Create welcoming environment and assist customers with questions and product recommendations.
• Inform customers about produce specials and promotions.
• Inspect products for quality and freshness; take action as needed.
• Monitor sell-through and shrink; ensure proper inventory levels.
• Recommend produce items to customers based on needs.
• Develop and implement a department business plan.
• Operate in refrigerated areas and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain temperature logs and proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Enforce safety programs and report hazards.
