Qualifications

• Ability to manage people, merchandising, and customer service in a fast-paced grocery environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication with staff and customers.
• Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Reading and applying price marks, scales, and store policies accurately.
• Maintain professional appearance and proper uniforming of staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendly conduct and policy implementation.
• Oversee hiring, discipline, transfers, and evaluations of produce department staff.
• Plan, organize, direct, and control produce department activities; may cover store operations in manager’s absence.
• Direct receiving, stocking, pricing, and merchandising of produce products.
• Maintain adequate stock levels and proper ordering; ensure inventories are optimal.
• Supervise salad bar operations and ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Provide training on price marking and customer courtesy; respond to customer issues.
• Maintain communication with store personnel and other departments.
• Develop schedules for full-time and part-time staff for efficiency.
• Promote company initiatives and improvements to direct reports.
• Handle conflict calmly and professionally; act with honesty and integrity.
• Perform all duties as assigned by store manager or supervisor.
