Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Consulting’s Chemical Process Safety Center seeks a Principal Engineer to lead PHA/LOPA facilitation, PSM/RMP compliance audits, and related analyses for major clients across multiple industries.

You will mentor engineers, review critical process drawings, and prepare technical reports while managing complex projects and client relationships. Occasional travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Lead PHAs/LOPAs and PSM/RMP audits on large projects.
• Review process drawings such as PFDs and P&IDs during studies.
• Prepare written recommendations and client-facing reports.
• Mentor and coach engineers on PHA/LOPA techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and supervise PHA/LOPA facilitation and audits.
• Lead and participate in PSM and RMP compliance activities.
• Collaborate with clients and ABS teams to deliver solutions.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budgets.
