Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to support wafer fab tools and processes in multiple modules (Photo, Etch, Deposition, Diffusion) on Silicon and GaAs wafers for Commercial & Military markets.

The role is hands-on in a small manufacturing facility with responsibilities spanning process development, specifications, reliability, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong problem solving and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with wafer fabrication processes and SPC/DoE.

Responsibilities

  • Act as SME in semiconductor wafer processing across functional areas.
  • Develop, monitor and test wafer fab semiconductor products.
  • Create and update process specifications.
  • Improve equipment and process reliability and repeatability.
  • Lead teams to improve yields and reduce cycle time or cost.
  • Apply SPC for process monitoring of critical parameters.
  • Qualify new equipment and analyze data for technical audiences.
  • Engage in other design, development, and support tasks as assigned.
