Summary:

HOURS: Monday-Friday between 0730 - 1700. No weekends or on-call. This is a fully onsite position.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Schedule patients for surgery or specialty procedures, coordinating with physicians’ schedules.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for guiding and training Procedure Schedulers.
  • Create and maintain schedules, assist in resolving scheduling issues.
  • Provide departmental updates to the Practice Manager.
  • Train, give feedback, and orient Procedure Schedulers.
  • Handle patient inquiries, explain procedures, and obtain necessary pre-authorizations.
  • Ensure all pre-surgical tests are completed and patients are properly instructed.
  • Assist in hiring procedures and departmental improvements.
  • Manage scheduling duties for Procedure Schedulers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a medical or business office setting
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • In good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state insurance programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in surgical office or as a surgical scheduler
  • Bilingual in Spanish
