Job summary

Powerus is seeking a Principal PCB Layout Engineer to lead the physical design across the company’s board portfolio. You will define layout standards, drive advanced packaging and interconnect tech, and mentor layout engineers.

The role partners with schematic designers, mechanical engineers, and contract manufacturers to resolve complex placement and routing challenges, own the layout-to-manufacturing interface, and support production readiness across defense and commercial programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of PCB physical design experience on multiple production programs.
• Experience defining layout standards and mentoring layout engineers.
• Deep knowledge of HDI, rigid-flex, and high-layer-count board constructions.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Define PCB layout standards and constraint management practices across programs.
• Lead layout of complex boards including HDI, rigid-flex, and high-layer-count designs.
• Evaluate advanced interconnect technologies and direct stackup engineering.
• Mentor layout engineers and drive layout automation and checks.
• Own the layout-to-manufacturing interface including fabrication notes and assembly requirements.
• Resolve layout feasibility issues on constrained boards and participate in design reviews.
