Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) seeks a Principal Data Center Fiber Deployment Lead to oversee data center fiber deployment projects delivered by colocation providers, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality execution.

You will create and review critical docs, implement QC processes, conduct site walks, and lead startup and commissioning. You will manage external vendors, contracts, and installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling at the Abilene, Texas data center.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center fiber deployment projects delivered by colocation providers.
• Create, review, and maintain key project documentation, including design reviews and commissioning plans.
• Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct detailed site walks and lead startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
• Identify gaps in risk identification and mitigation, develop tailored solutions, and align construction activities with project requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact between Oracle and external vendors, negotiate with and manage contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure contract compliance, monitor vendor performance, and oversee installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.

In this role, you will create, review, and maintain key project documentation, including design reviews, commissioning plans, and technical problem-solving documents. You will implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure construction activities meet design specifications, approved plans, and industry standards.

You will conduct detailed site walks and lead the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects. You will also identify gaps in risk identification and mitigation, develop tailored solutions, and help ensure construction activities remain aligned with project requirements.

As the primary point of contact between Oracle and colocation providers, you will select, negotiate with, and manage external vendors, contractors, and suppliers. You will ensure contract compliance, monitor vendor performance, and oversee the installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.

This role requires to work on-site at Oracle’s Data Center in Abilene, Texas. Relocation packages are available.
