Job summary

Sonoma Community Action Network (SonomaCAN) seeks a Temporary Lead Primary Caregiver to oversee Early Head Start center operations in Sonoma County. You will supervise staff, coordinate activities for infants and toddlers, and ensure adherence to Head Start standards and licensing regulations.

Qualifications

• BA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or AA with 24 ECE/CD units and plan to complete BA within 6 months
• 3 units of Adult Supervision
• Teacher Permit within 6 months
• Health and Safety Training (TB clearances, immunizations)
• 12 months of teaching experience with 6 months of supervision

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the work of center staff, volunteers, and parents
• Supervise and support all children in the classroom
• Supervise: Primary Caregiver, Classroom Assistant, and any other assigned staff
• Ensure and participate in parent home visits and conferences
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
• Maintain health and safety standards in the classroom and play areas
• Provide on-the-job training and support to staff
• Approve staff time cards and absences
• Communicate with supervisor to plan coverage when staff are absent
