Job summary

San Francisco Waldorf School is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher. The role requires a Waldorf Early Childhood educator with enthusiasm for nurturing, play-based learning and a rhythmically structured environment.

You will work alongside an assistant teacher to support children and their families. The position entails leading the class, maintaining a welcoming classroom, and collaborating with the director to coordinate enrollment events, parent conferences, and community activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid California teaching-related permit or equivalent credential.
• Completion of Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training is required.
• At least 2 years of Waldorf teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Preschool class and manage daily rhythm indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain organized classroom with seasonal nature table.
• Observe and tailor activities to each child’s development.
• Oversee daily operations and support the assistant teacher.
• Assist with enrollment events and parent interviews.
• Coordinate parent involvement events and conferences.
