Job summary

Kaniksu Community Health is expanding its Kid’s Club in north Idaho and is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. This role focuses on providing a safe, engaging learning environment for children aged 0-5, while supporting families and colleagues.

You will deliver developmentally appropriate activities, maintain classroom organization, and collaborate with parents and staff to promote child wellbeing.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic needs for children.
• Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
• Develop and maintain positive communication and relationships with children and parents.
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom.
• Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills.
• Provide appropriate supervision for children at all times.
• Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies.
• Facilitate activities including songs, games and art projects.
• First aid: knowledge of child safety requirements and up-to-date protocols.
• Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms.
