Job summary

The Goddard School of San Francisco (Northern Waterfront) is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children using Wonder of Learning®. You will lead daily activities, collaborate with an Assistant Teacher, and partner with families and staff to support each child’s growth.

Ideal candidates have a California-qualifying education background (ECE/Child Development) and experience with “learning through play” philosophy,

Qualifications

• Supports education program using learning through play philosophy.
• Interacts closely with children at their level.
• Maintains sight and sound supervision at all times.
• Complies with employment policies and safety rules.
• Communicates professionally with staff, children and parents.
• Handles crises and evacuations per policy.
• Complies with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing learning environment.
• Design room arrangement to support children's development.
• Develop and implement classroom management systems.
• Ensure equipment is in good repair and follow procedures.
• Promote healthy eating and supervise ratio requirements.
• Post schedules and adhere to health and safety policies.
• Advance children's physical and intellectual development.
• Support social-emotional development and positive guidance.
• Establish positive family relations and communication.
• Develop lesson plans and assess supplies; build teamwork.
• Maintain professional commitment and pursue growth.
