Position Details

Position: Preschool Instructor for Children with Disabilities

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 2:30pm (32.5 paid hours/week)

Compensation: $25 per hour

Job Description

The Preschool Instructor (non-credentialed teacher) works with children aged 0 to 3 years old with developmental delays, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, or on the autism spectrum in our early intervention program and preschool.

Our early intervention preschools provide a structured environment with activities designed to meet each child's developmental and behavioral goals, using therapeutic techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Focus areas include speech and language development, fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, and social development.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct classes according to the program's instructional design and philosophy
  • Evaluate each child's progress and prepare Individualized Program Plans (IPP)
  • Plan and implement daily activities
  • Participate in parent and staff meetings; maintain communication with parents/caregivers
  • Supervise the teacher assistant
Requirements
  • CA Driver's license
  • 12 Early Childhood Education units, including 3 units of Infant/Toddler Care
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching children aged 0-3 or children with developmental delays
  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or related field
  • Spanish language skills (preferred but not required)
  • Experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
