Our Lady of Grace Daycare in West Babylon, New York is looking for a dedicated lead teacher for 4/5 year olds. In this role, you will be responsible for planning activities that support the children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development. You will also prepare lesson plans and assess children's progress.
The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree in Early Childhood or a related field and at least 2 years of experience working with children. You will ensure a safe and healthy environment while maintaining communication with parents and adhering to licensing regulations.

Hours: 6:45AM-12:15PM
Plan both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning
Work with staff to help coordinate special events
Prepare monthly lesson plans and submit for director’s approval
Complete bi-annual assessment of children’s development
Report progress of children to parents in bi-annual reports and parent-teacher conferences
Maintain daily open communication with parents
Maintain confidentiality
Report any suspect child abuse to proper authorities
Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
Maintain a safe and healthy environment
Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
Attend in-service training and staff meetings
Supervise assistants and volunteers in the classroom
Keep all appropriate records
Meet all applicable licensing regulations
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
Other duties as assigned by the director
Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field; or CDA credential (or 9 credits in a related field) with a plan leading to a CDA and 2 years’ experience relating to caring for children.
