Overview

Lead Preschool Teacher role at Amazing Explorers Academy. Base pay range: $17.50/hr - $18.50/hr. This role is focused on implementing curriculum in the classroom and supervising and managing children, with oversight of assistant teachers and adherence to developmentally appropriate practices as required by the Director.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained.
• Complete all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
• Help and supervise children during all activities.
• Counsel children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise.
• Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
• Develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids/materials for classroom activities.
• Assist children with meal times and cleanup.
• Ensure that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and used properly.
• Physically arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
• Direct activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure orderly function.
• Communicate appropriate information to parents and maintain developmental profiles for children.
• Schedule and conduct parent/teacher conferences throughout the year.
• Maintain family information boards and other classroom bulletin boards.
• Ensure that the classroom medication schedule is followed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education with 45 hours training in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.
• Must meet all state requirements for this position.
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility is a plus.

• Highly professional and dependable.
• Ability to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
