Job summary

Prodigy at BBI in Florida is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to foster a nurturing classroom where children’s social, emotional, cognitive and developmental growth is supported by developmentally appropriate activities.

You will collaborate with a co-teacher, mentor new staff, plan engaging activities, communicate with parents daily, ensure safety, and uphold accreditation standards while advancing the school’s mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; CDA or higher credential preferred.
• 1 year of lead-teacher experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP).
• Familiar with NAEYC standards and accreditation processes.
• Must pass Level 2 background screening.

Job description

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will foster a nurturing environment that is rich in developmentally appropriate activities that will encourage children's curiosity and learning. We care for the whole child as an individual including their social -- emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Develop and implement lesson plan activities

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• CDA
• 1-year experience working as lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility
• Meets state childcare education requirements
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
• Familiar with NAEYC standards
• Familiar with continuity of care
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to maintain professional composure in stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Familiar with accreditation process -- preferred
• College level coursework, Associate's or Bachelor's degree - preferred
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 40lbs
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must pass Level 2 background screening
• VPK certified if applicable
• The following childcare training courses must be completed within specified timeframes-
• Florida early learning and developmental standards- Birth to kindergarten (2017) Online -- upon hire
• Florida early learning and developmental standards- Birth to kindergarten (2017) Instructor-Led - within 180 days of employment
• Special Needs Appropriate Practices -- within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid -- within 90 days of employment
• Other training requirements identified by leadership team
• May perform other duties assigned.
