Job description

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to join our preschool teaching team. Candidates MUST have two+ years of experience working with young children (preferably between the ages of 3 & 5), be a team player, high energy & able to multi-task. Candidates MUST HAVE at least an Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Children & Families or other related field & qualify as a Group Supervisor with DHS to be considered. There is room for advancement in this position.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
2. Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for preschoolers.
3. Monitor, engage & assist children during playtime, meals, personal hygiene & other daily routines.
4. Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
5. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.
6. Complete observations & assessments as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Have two years of experience working with young children (2500 hours).
2. Must qualify as a Group Supervisor or higher with the Dept. of Human Services.
3. Must have AT LEAST an Associate's degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Children & Families or another related field.
4. Able to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
5. Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States.
6. Be able to pass a drug test.
7. Have experience in a leadership role.
8. A love for children and a desire to work with preschoolers.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
11. Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
12. Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.
13. Bilingual is a plus.

Position Overview:

1. This is a full-time position, but Bright Light full-time staff work a 4-day work week.
2. The pay range starts at $18 up to $19.50 per hour ($35,500 - $38,000 annually), relative to experience & education with an additional pay increase based on performance at the end of a 90-day probation period.
3. Full-time staff also receive paid holidays & PTO, sick pay, annual raises, reduced child care & more.
