Cover Whale is seeking an analytical Actuarial/Data Science professional to own end-to-end reserving and predictive modeling. You will maintain Python-based reserving models and build models using telematics and claims data to drive pricing and risk management.

The role sits at the core of underwriting and growth, influencing loss ratio, pricing strategy, and portfolio expansion. Strong Python and ML skills are essential, with experience handling large datasets and production-grade models.

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance analytics, actuarial modeling, or predictive risk modeling.
• Strong proficiency in Python for statistical modeling and data analysis.
• Experience building production-grade analytical models with large-scale data.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques (regression, gradient boosting, classification, anomaly detection).

Responsabilités

• Own and continuously improve end-to-end reserving processes with Python-based models.
• Develop and deploy predictive models using telematics, claims, and policy data to improve risk selection and pricing.
• Build large loss models to identify high-risk claims early.
• Design dynamic pricing frameworks leveraging live market and portfolio data.
• Translate data insights into actionable underwriting and growth recommendations.
• Produce carrier-level reports and insights for strategic decision-making.
• Automate recurring analyses and reporting workflows.
