Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products in line with PCI and DOT requirements.

The role requires PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II, 2+ years in a certified plant, and willingness to travel between plants and job sites. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specifications.
• ACI Strength Testing certification preferred.
• Able to maintain production line compliance when schedules push.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records; investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT certification; supervise Level I inspectors.
• Lead owner or agency inspections; coordinate daily coverage and review inspector records.
