Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or perform owner/agency inspections for DOT and structural precast programs. You verify prestressing operations, review designs and strength records, and decide on acceptance of finished products.

With PCI Level II certification and 2+ years in a certified precast plant, you will maintain QC records, supervise Level I inspectors, and travel between plants as

Qualifications

• PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II, current, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specifications for your state.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to hold a production line to the specification when the schedule is pushing.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against the specification and the shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT or owner acceptance programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records.
