Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, and to support owner and DOT inspections. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products while maintaining PCI/DOT QC records.

Qualifications

• Level II PCI quality control certification is required and current.
• At least 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specs.
• ACI strength testing certification is preferred.
• Ability to enforce specifications on production lines when schedule is tight.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand cert, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records; accept or reject finished products.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs; supervise Level I inspectors.
• Assign daily coverage and review their records; act as outside eye on owner/agency projects.
