Job Qualifications:

  • Have a love for children; be reliable and friendly.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • NYS Certification or study plan preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.).
  2. Encourage children to interact and resolve occasional conflict.
  3. Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, crafts, etc.).
  4. Organize nap and lunch/snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are always safe.
  5. Track children’s progress.
  6. Communicate with parents regularly.
  7. Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, and state certification.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and five years' experience in a licensed early childhood center.
  • Proof of current and active enrollment in an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor's degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Ability to lift objects of up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch.
