Job summary

The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) is seeking a Lead Pre-K Teacher to craft engaging curricula and support joyful, developmentally appropriate learning for young children in a collaborative, supportive environment.

You will implement Conscious Discipline techniques, align with accreditation standards, and contribute to a culture that values growth, wellness, and teamwork across the TASB community in Texas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching in a licensed child care center.
  • May substitute relevant experience for education.
  • Knowledge of developmentally-appropriate practice.
  • Must meet physical demands including lifting children and emergency evacuations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum and daily lesson plans based on each child’s development and goals.
  • Use positive guidance and co-regulation to help children manage emotions and behavior.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team of teachers and engage in professional development.
  • Direct the day-to-day functioning of the classroom and maintain a warm learning environment.
  • Build cooperative relationships with school staff and families.

About You

As Lead Pre-K Teacher, you are an energetic educator who enjoys creating magical moments that spark a lifelong love of learning in young children. You understand the value of play and the learning that takes place while children explore and create. In this role you will help students develop the academic and social skills necessary for success in their future school endeavors. You have an innate ability to recognize and make the most of teachable moments that occur throughout the day.

You have experience implementing or are willing to learn Conscious Discipline techniques as well as creating and executing age appropriate curricula. You are familiar with and practice accreditation standards and will play a pivotal role in our school achieving national accreditation.

A Typical Day
  • Develop curriculum and daily lesson plans that are based on each child’s development and the goals of the Corner School
  • Use positive guidance and co-regulation to help children develop the skills they need to manage their emotions and behavior independently
  • Collaborate with a supportive team of teachers throughout the year with fun events and professional development opportunities

Skills For Success

Education and Experience:
