Job summary

SOLTECH seeks a Lead BI Engineer to own ongoing Power BI semantic models and drive data analytics strategy. The role emphasizes AI-assisted development with Claude Code and governance across BI workspaces, while contributing to Snowflake GOLD-layer enhancements.

You will mentor teammates, optimize DAX/Power Query, and ensure data quality from Snowflake to semantic models for enterprise reporting.

Qualifications

7+ years of BI experience with enterprise models.
3+ years building and maintaining Power BI semantic models.
Expertise in DAX, Power Query, and dimensional modeling (Kimball).
Experience with Snowflake data warehouse and cloud data modeling.
Hands-on AI-powered coding environments (Claude Code) in daily workflows.
Knowledge of RLS, workspace governance, and BI governance best practices.
Ability to mentor teammates and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize enterprise Power BI semantic models (TMDL/Model.bim).
Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, Power Query transformations, and optimize model performance.
Design and manage Row-Level Security and BI workspace governance.
Administer BI workspaces with governance, permissions, and lifecycle management.
Align semantic models with Snowflake GOLD-layer changes and downstream reporting.
Provide guidance, documentation, troubleshooting, and support to report developers.
Mentor teammates on BI practices and AI-assisted development workflows.
