Job summary

Tarter Farm and Ranch is seeking a Lead Powder Coating Technician to oversee the powder coating department on-site. You will train a small team, set up and run coating guns, booths, and ovens, and ensure consistent, high-quality finishes throughout production.

Ideal candidates have powder coating or industrial painting experience, at least 1 year in a leadership role, and the physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Forklift experience is a plus in our fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in powder coating or industrial painting.
• Leadership or team-leading experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and good teamwork/communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train a small team of powder coating technicians.
• Set up, operate, and maintain powder coating guns, booths, and ovens.
• Prepare parts (cleaning, masking, surface prep) and ensure high-quality finishes.
• Inspect parts for coating thickness, coverage, and curing quality.
• Monitor daily production schedules, material usage, and safety.
• Troubleshoot coating issues and implement process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
