A PhD in atmospheric science or related fields is required and experience with aerosol instrumentation is highly preferred. This grant-funded position is contingent on external funding and may extend beyond 12 months.

Qualifications

  • PhD in atmospheric science, atmospheric chemistry, chemistry, physics, engineering or related fields.
  • Well versed in operation of aerosol instrumentation and data handling.
  • Strong background in aerosol science and hands-on instrument experience.
  • Experience with Aerosol Mass Spectrometers and/or Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitors preferred.
  • This grant-funded position is contingent on external funding and may extend beyond 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review progress and evaluate results of experiments or projects under supervision.
  • Recommend changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
  • Lead instrument operations, including QA/QC checks and routine maintenance.
  • Perform data processing and analysis, and contribute to publications.
  • Possibly manage a single technical piece of research equipment and personnel.
