Job summary

State of Maine, Department of Health and Human Services—Maine CDC, is seeking a Nursing Education Consultant to join the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) in Augusta. You will lead educational initiatives for families and providers, coordinate case management, and support in-office blood lead testing to prevent exposure in homes and clinics.

The role emphasizes collaboration with public health nurses, social workers, and environmental specialists to identify exposure sources

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) with four years of progressively responsible experience in nursing education, staff development, in-service education or consultation services.
Knowledge of blood lead testing methods and childhood lead poisoning risks is preferred.
Ability to document and communicate status of case management activities to internal and external parties.

Responsibilities

Serve as Nursing Education Consultant in the CLPPP to educate families about lead exposure and prevention.
Collaborate with nurses, social workers, environmental specialists and other agencies for case management and referrals.
Coordinate in-office blood lead testing and lead-investigation trainings for healthcare practices.
Provide training to internal and external partner organizations and practitioners as needed.
Expedite care coordination and communication among staff, laboratories, families, providers and partner agencies.
